The STEM Teaching Tool Grants have been renamed Gravely Grants this year in honor of the Foundation’s first executive director, VADM Samuel L. Gravely, USN (Ret.)
One $500 Gravely STEM Teaching Tools Grant will be provided as a matching grant to participating chapters this year. Please check here for the revised Guidelines.
The grant will be mailed to AFCEA Regional Vice Presidents during the month of September ONLY for those Chapters that submitted feedback on how funds were used during the past academic year.
Submit your report NOW if your Chapter wishes to receive this year’s matching grant here.
Funding for this year’s grants is made possible by proceeds from the Cycle for STEM ride held in July. During the ride, three $500 Grants were awarded to STEM teachers along the route – Steel Valley High School, Hancock High School and Uniontown Area High School.
At the kickoff of the “Cycle for STEM” 335 mi, 6 day journey from Pittsburgh, PA to Washington, DC, a $500 STEM Teacher Grant was presented to Mr. John Strom, Asst Principal, Steel Valley High School (Munhall, PA) by Dr. Vince Patton, executive director, AFCEA Educational Foundation. The school will use the money as part of an enhancement project for their science classroom.
