Dr. Jon L. Boyes, Vice Admiral, USN (Ret.) Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. Jon L. Boyes, VADM, USN (Ret.) Memorial
Scholarship has been established to honor Vice Admiral Boyes' memory
and accomplishments. Vice Admiral Boyes served as president
of AFCEA International for ten years, during which time
he established the AFCEA Educational Foundation.
One $3,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a competitively
selected and deserving Navy ROTC midshipman.
Candidates
must be at least second-year college students, enrolled
full time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application.
The scholarship has been endowed in perpetuity through the generosity
of AFCEA International.

Eligibility:
|
The scholarship will recognize a Navy
ROTC midshipman or Officer Candidate majoring
in electrical engineering.
PLEASE NOTE: The recipient will
be selected by the ROTC Selection Committee from the
qualified applicants for the AFCEA ROTC Scholarship. Please apply for the ROTC scholarship for consideration (see link below).
The minimum criteria for consideration include:
- Applicant must be a citizen
of the United States, of good moral character; must be an active
member of a Navy ROTC unit, whose candidacy
is endorsed by the Professor of Naval Science
or an authorized representative of the unit
in which candidate is enrolled. Must be enrolled
in a degree-granting educational institution,
majoring in electrical engineering with a cumulative
GPA of 3.0 or better (where 4.0=A). Must have demonstrated
dedication and superior performance based upon
academic excellence.
- Applicant must have demonstrated
potential to serve as an Officer of the United
States Navy.
