AFCEA ROTC Scholarship

March 1, 2009
Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to ROTC students majoring in the following or C4I-related fields of electrical, computer, chemical, systems or aerospace engineering; electronics; computer science; physics; mathematics; science or mathematics education; technology management; or other technical fields at accredited degree-granting four-year colleges or universities in the United States. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible.  Candidates must be at least second-year college students, enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application.
Eligibility:

Candidates must be nominated by the Professor of Military Science, Naval Science, Aerospace Studies or designated Commanding Officer as appropriate. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen enrolled in ROTC, have good moral character, demonstrate academic excellence, exhibit the potential to serve as an officer in the U.S. Armed Forces, and have a financial need.

In addition, applicants must provide two Letters of Recommendation from faculty in their field of study.  An official transcript including all college-level study as well as courses in progress is also required.

Important:

Consideration for the Medal of Honor Scholarship requires an endorsement by the ROTC unit commander and must be included in the Letter of Nomination.

Consideration for the Future Heroes EXPERIENCE TOUR requires an endorsement by the ROTC unit commander and must be included in the Letter of Nomination.

PLEASE NOTE:  There is only ONE APPLICATION FORM for all available ROTC Scholarships.  The letters of recommendation and endorsements must specify additional considerations - see above.

Applications for 2009 will be available in both online and print formats (pdf) - either one is acceptable.
