Science Technology, Engineering, and Math

(STEM) Majors Scholarship

Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Undergraduate scholarships are made possible by generous contributions from AMERICAN SYSTEMS and GOOGLE.


Graduate scholarships are made possible by

a generous contribution from Booz Allen Hamilton.


 

For the 2013-2014 Academic Year, scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree in an eligible major and currently enrolled in an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU) institution in the United States. Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with one of these institutions are eligible. Candidates must be at least second-year college students, enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application.

Scholarships of $3,000 will be awarded to full-time graduate students currently working toward a master's degree in an eligible major.  Graduate students are not required to be enrolled in an HBCU institution.  Distance-learning or online programs will not qualify.

Scholarships awarded from this application include:


- VADM Samuel L. Gravely Memorial Scholarship

- Ralph W. Shrader Diversity Scholarship

 

Eligibility: 

NOTE:  Degree-seeking candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Undergraduate candidates must be at least second-year college students enrolled as sophomores or juniors in four-year accredited HBCU college or University in the United States at the time of application. Online programs are eligible.

 

Graduate-level candidates must currently be enrolled in their second semester and at least two (2) semester-equivalent courses per term. A current minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale in their current program at an accredited HBCU U.S. college or university required at the time of application.

Qualifying STEM majors related to the mission of AFCEA include: Biometry/Biometrics, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics Science, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Systems, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Geospatial Science, Information Science, Information Technology, Information Resource, Management, Intelligence, Mathematics, Network Engineering, Network Security, Operations, Research, Physics, Robotics Engineering, Robotics Technology, Statistics, Strategic Intelligence, and Telecommunications Engineering

Important:

PLEASE NOTE: In addition to the online application, other required documents include: current transcript issued by the school Registrar's Office and at least two letters of recommendation from relevant faculty.

Instructions for electronic submission of the recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers as part of the on-line application process - please do not mail separately. Letters will be addressed to:
