Scholarships are made possible by
a generous contribution from   AMERICAN SYSTEMS.

 

For the 2012 Academic Year, scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree in an eligible major and currently enrolled in an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU) institution in the United States. Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with one of these institutions are eligible. Candidates must be at least second-year college students, enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application.

Eligibility: 

NOTE:  Degree-seeking candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Students must be currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited HBCU institution in the United States. Students also may be enrolled in an accredited distance-learning or online degree program affiliated with one of these institutions.

Applications will be accepted from qualified sophomore and junior students enrolled full-time in a eligible Bachelor of Science program.

Eligible majors include the following or related STEM subjects: electrical, aerospace, systems or computer engineering; computer engineering technology; computer information systems; information systems management; computer science; physics; or mathematics. Majors directly related to the support of U.S.intelligence or homeland security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible.

Special consideration will be given to military enlisted candidates/military veterans.

Important:

PLEASE NOTE: In addition to the online application, other required documents include: current transcript issued by the school Registrar's Office and at least two letters of recommendation from relevant faculty.

Instructions for electronic submission of the recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers as part of the on-line application process - please do not mail separately. Letters will be addressed to:
