AFCEA Military Personnel/Dependents Scholarships
   

The AFCEA Educational Foundation is dedicated to providing support to U.S. military personnel and their dependents. 

Merit-based scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel), disabled veterans, and to their spouses or dependents who are currently enrolled full time in an eligible degree program at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the U.S.

Veterans enrolled as freshmen, as part-time or full-time students, and in either two-year or four-year institutions are eligible to apply. 

All others must be at least second-year college students enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors in four-year institutions at the time of application.

All candidates must provide a copy of Certificate of Service, Discharge Form DD214, or facsimile of candidate's current DoD or Coast Guard Identification Card.(Please black out your Social Security Number when submitting.)

Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible.

This information is in effect for the 2012-2013 school year.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be

  1. U.S. citizen
  2. currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited college or university in the United States
  3. an undergraduate student enrolled at the time of application
  4. enrolled part time or full time in an eligible degree program
  5. a qualified freshman (veteran or active-duty ONLY); all others either a sophomore or junior

An overall 3.0 GPA is required (except War Veterans or Disabled War Veterans).

Candidates must be majoring in the following or C4I-related fields of electrical, aerospace, systems or computer engineering; computer engineering technology; computer network systems; information systems security; computer information systems; information systems management; technology management; electronics engineering technology; computer science; physics; or mathematics.

Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible.



Important:


PLEASE NOTE: At least two letters of recommendation will be required from field-of-study professors. If that is not possible, we will accept recommendations from commanding officers/employers in your related field.

Instructions on electronic submission of the recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers as part of the on-line application process. Letters will be addressed to:

An official transcript reflecting all college-level study will also be required. All items must arrive by the deadline date - electronic submissions in pdf format preferred.
