AFCEA Military Personnel/Dependents Scholarships

The AFCEA Educational Foundation is dedicated to providing support to U.S. military personnel and their dependents.

The Educational Foundation offers several scholarships designated for military personnel. The common military personnel/dependents application allows students to be considered for all of the scholarships available (depending on eligibility) by filling out just one application.

Merit-based scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel), disabled veterans, and to their spouses or dependents who are currently enrolled full time in an eligible degree program at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the U.S.

Veterans enrolled as freshmen, part-time students and/or in two-year institutions are also eligible to apply; all others must be at least second-year college students enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors in four-year institutions at the time of application. Candidates must provide a copy of Certificate of Service, Discharge Form DD214, or facsimile of candidate's current DoD or Coast Guard Identification Card.(Please black out your Social Security Number when submitting.)

Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible.

Eligibility:	Applicants must be a U.S. citizen currently currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited college or university in the United States a qualified freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior an undergraduate student enrolled at the time of application enrolled part time or full time in an eligible degree program Candidates must be majoring in the following or C4I-related fields of electrical, aerospace, systems or computer engineering; computer engineering technology; computer network systems; information systems security; computer information systems; information systems management; technology management; electronics engineering technology; computer science; physics; or mathematics. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible.
Important:	PLEASE NOTE: At least two letters of recommendation will be required from field-of-study professors. If that is not possible, we will accept recommendations from commanding officers/employers in your related field. Instructions on electronic submission of the recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers as part of the on-line application process. Letters will be addressed to: Mr. Fred H. All items must arrive by the deadline date - electronic submissions in pdf format preferred. If electronic submission is not possible, please send official document to the AFCEA address listed above.
