DISTANCE DEFEATED – REMOTENESS IGNORED

An examination of information sharing in the battlespace

and the requirements for seamless information transfer

FOREWORD

The aim of TechNet Europe 2008 is to examine information sharing, both the theory and the practice. We shall examine new technologies and the challenges of information transfer, not least the electro-magnetic spectrum. We shall examine the commercial marketplace both in terms of hardware and software to see what can be used in the battlespace and US AFRICOM will be using a session to brief on their latest activities.

The event will consist of a symposium, a network night plus a supporting exhibition that will feature the latest technology trends.

The Symposium will consist of keynote speeches made by eminent invited speakers and presentations selected following the "Call for Papers". And you can always relax at our Network Night that offers an informal atmosphere to network or simply to enjoy the company of others in convivial surroundings.

The Czech Chapter of AFCEA is working with us to make sure that there is good military representation among the attendees and the Chief of General Staff has already agreed to give the opening keynote address. We look forward to seeing you there.

Yours sincerely,
