Foreword

"From Assets to Services - Capability Delivery in the 21st Century."

This conference was held under the Patronage of the Prime Minister of Romania.

The whole world is part of an all-embracing transformation process. So are the NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency and AFCEA, two "number one" in communications and information technology.

Increasing tasks in the defence and security sector are challenged by decreasing budgets in the western world. However, intensive information exchange on an ethical platform between users and producers of state-of-the-art C4ISR hard and software is still indispensable. That's why AFCEA Europe and the NCI Agency decided on a Strategic Cooperation Agreement that focuses on an evolutionary and resource- saving format to address today's strategic and technical issues and to showcase the most diverse range of new and innovative products and services.

The NATO C4ISR Industry Conference (NCI Agency) & TechNet International 2014 (AFCEA Europe) was the first of a new and unique event series to be organized "truly joint".

A three-day conference with highly experienced and well respected top specialists from military, industry and academia went hand in hand with an exhibition to allow a close look at leading edge hard and software applications as well as in-depth discussions in reserved meeting areas and during conference breaks. Beyond that, enjoyable social events were provided to allow intensive networking and/or relaxation after busy working hours.

The follow-on events will be held in Madrid, Spain in spring 2015 and in Ottawa, Canada in spring 2016.

The 2014 Industry Conference is a cooperative effort between AFCEA and the NCI Agency. AFCEA and the NCI Agency remain independent organizations. NCI Agency’s participation may not be construed as direct or indirect endorsement of AFCEA’s or any industry products and/or services.
