Defense Acquisition Modernization Symposium

"Better Buying Power: Do We Have it Right?"

August 5-6, 2014

Washington, D.C.

The first annual Defense Acquisition Modernization Symposium will be hosted by AFCEA in Washington, D.C. and will highlight “Better Buying Power” as it is applied to government, industry, and academia. This event will include leaders from the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (OUSD(AT&L)), Assistant Secretary of the Navy (ASN) (Research, Development & Acquisition (RDA)), along with Industry leaders to provide updates and exchanges among scholars and practitioners of public sector acquisition. Participants and attendees will represent a broad range of acquisition expertise from academia, government, and industry that are shaping acquisition modernization.

 

The format will include plenary speakers, panels, workshops, and breakout sessions to meet the needs of all attendees.  The workshops will be two hour sessions focused on topical issues and will capture feedback from attendees to support or recommend changes to acquisition processes. The breakout sessions will provide attendees a chance to dialogue about acquisition issues with speakers and colleagues. Attendees will leave with not only a greater understanding of “Better Buying Power”, but also some of the acquisition changes and challenges facing government and industry. Attendees at this symposium will be able to contribute to acquisition change through participatory engagement. This symposium will be one of a kind and limited to 700 attendees.

Army Intelligence Industry Day

On September 4, 2014, AFCEA Intelligence and the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Headquarters, U.S. Army, will co-sponsor a special, one day classified event tailored for members of industry focused on U.S. Army Intelligence. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of Army Intelligence’s vision and direction in a changing fiscal and operational environment, plus a sense of what technologies, capabilities, and services are required by Army Intelligence.

"Achieving Force 2025 Through Signals and Cyber"

Industry-Defense Technical Exchange on

Network Management Interoperability

AFCEA and Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) have teamed up in support of the DoD CIO team to conduct a 1 day highly interactive technical exchange on Network Management and Interoperability. "Assured Interoperability"

TechNet Asia-Pacific, now in its 29th year, is co-sponsored by AFCEA International and AFCEA Hawaii. It is the largest event in the Pacific Rim focusing on regional defense and cybersecurity issues and will focus this year on “Assured Interoperability”. WEST 2015

The Western Conference and Exposition (WEST 2015) is the largest event on the West Coast for the Sea Services and the contractors that support them.
