The 34th annual AFCEA Spring Intelligence Symposium features leaders from the Office of the DNI, the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity and the National Intelligence Council who will explain the rationale for IC investments in R&D, where that investment is being directed and how industry, Federally Funded R&D Centers and academia can best contribute to the IC's R&D effort. 

 

Speakers from industry and academia will explore where they are making research investments and the friction or misalignment that may occur with the IC's Technology Road Map.

The U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency’s new operational role in the cyber domain as network defender creates a formal relationship between DISA, U.S. Cyber Command and the command’s military service components. The goal is to improve security, but a successful strategy depends on a matrix of participating organizations adapting technical solutions and adopting enterprise management to improve efficiency, security and reliability.

Linked by a commitment to cybersecurity, this community of partners will gather to discuss and present on operational themes such as the the teamwork, relevant guidance and priorities, and associated perspectives of mission partners united in the development of an integrated approach to operating and defending the network.

 

 


Army Intelligence Industry Day

AFCEA Intelligence Industry Day is a one day classified event tailored for members of industry focused on U.S. Army Intelligence. With a speaker line-up including senior leaders from Army Intelligence, Army Science and Technology (S&T), and Army Acquisition, this event will provide valuable background to enable the private sector to continue its relationship with Army Intelligence.

The agenda will explore science and technology priorities for Army Intelligence that come at a time of transition as the Army faces diverse, emerging challenges. Army Intelligence is evolving to be more adaptive and agile to provide asymmetric support to the regionally aligned, globally engaged Army by focusing on the following:

--Integrating critical multi-discipline intelligence capabilities to support Regionally Aligned Forces
--Maturing our ability to leverage the national to tactical enterprise in support of expeditionary and distributed operations
--Setting conditions to ensure army’s alignment with evolving IC ITE, DoD JIE, Army Common Operating Environment

Attendees will gain a greater understanding of Army Intelligence vision and direction in a changing fiscal and operational environment, plus a sense of what technologies, capabilities, and services are required by Army Intelligence.

Army Cyber Ball

MILCOM 2015 celebrates the 34th anniversary of the premier international conference for military communications. “Leveraging Technology – The Joint Imperative” gathers the leading minds of government, military, industry and academia in an interactive forum to further explore and define the benefits that joint-level collaboration bring to current and future communication challenges. The annual conference will take place October 26-28, 2015, at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida. Leaders from around the world will address the critical role communications plays in military readiness and operations. The Tampa location is ideal for this discussion, with close proximity to the MacDill Air Force Base military community, U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and the 6th Air Mobility Wing. MILCOM offers industry the opportunity to discuss communications technologies and services with decision makers from all branches of the armed forces, the Department of Defense, federal agencies and multinational forces.

The conference will feature an outstanding series of technical presentations, discussions and tutorials, as well as nearly 30,000 square feet of industry exhibits all under one roof. It will include more than 300 unclassified and restricted technical presentations, tutorials and panel discussions led by experts in defense communications. Topics will include the spectrum of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) technologies and capabilities that address 21st century communications challenges related to national defense, homeland security, disaster response and interoperability. Continuing education credits will be available to all attendees.
