Workshop descriptions:

IPv6: Is it the Future and Do We Need It? – IPv6 experts tell us that it is only a matter of time before IPv6 will be a part of everyday networking.  Find out about IPv6, its benefits, capabilities, what you should be doing to get ready for IPv6, as well as the progress that has been made by PCATT IT professionals using a locally set-up IPv6 network.

IT Certification and Meeting the Certification Requirements of DoD 8570 – You probably has asked yourself several IT certification questions on numerous occasions?  What is the current value of IT certification?  Should I pursue a college degree or IT certification?  What are some of the certifications the current market demands?  How can I help my organization meet the certification requirements of DoD 8570?  Attend this workshop to find out answers to these and other IT certification questions.  Time for questions, answers, open discussions and sharing will be included during this workshop.

Current Trends in Computer Viruses and Simple Policies to Stop Them – The prevention of virus infestation can often be accomplished through better understanding of how a virus is constructed and delivered.  This workshop will take a quick look at various examples of programming codes for computer viruses.  Each virus program will be discussed as to their most common point of entry, target, and/or intended event.  In addition, latest trends in virus creation will be discussed as well as some simple policies, which can help to prevent the spread of viruses in a networked environment.

IT Troubleshooting Panel Discussion – How often do you scratch you head wondering how you can solve you IT problems?  Do you have trouble finding the right answer to your IT questions?  Join a panel of PCATT IT professionals as they discuss common IT problems.  Email your IT questions ahead of time to Jerry Cerny, PCATT Programs and Training Manger, at jerry@hcc.hawaii.edu, so the panel can research and be ready to help you with your specific IT questions.
