Cycle for STEM is the AFCEA Educational Foundation’s signature fundraising event. It is a non-competitive biking adventure that follows the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Towpath, which are linked together to provide the longest non-motorized hiking/biking trail in the United States.

This year we are offering four ways to participate in the event.

  1. 6-Day Ride: The full Cycle for STEM experience. A 6-Day, 335 Mile ride from Pittsburgh, PA to Washington, DC via the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Towpath.
  2. 4-Day Ride: Skip the uphill! Meet up with the 6-Day Riders to enjoy the entirety of the C&O Canal Towpath and its beautiful scenery.
  3. Final Day Ride: Don't have the time to do one of the longer options? Join us for the last day of the ride as we finish off the C&O Canal Towpath from White's Ferry, MD to Georgetown.
  4. Volunteer: Not a rider but would like to help? Volunteer to provide support to our riders and team for one(or more!) of the six days.
