Auditorium and Overflow Seating

Once the NRO auditorium is filled, Symposium presentations will be televised on large screens in adjacent rooms with overflow seating.  Auditorium seating will be filled on a first-come first-served basis each day.

Special Notice Regarding Government and Military Attendee Fees

AFCEA Intelligence is offering a special discounted registration rate for active government and military personnel.  This special rate does not apply to contractors who work for or with the government or military.

Member Registration Discounts

On the registration form there is a discounted rate for AFCEA members.  To receive the member rate for conference registration you must be an active AFCEA individual member or designated associate member of an AFCEA corporate member company.  If you sign up for the member rate and do not meet the criteria, you will be charged the correct rate.

Cancellations, Refunds, and Substitutions

Refunds must be requested in writing and received by AFCEA no later than September 8, 2008.  Written cancellations received by that date will be refunded in full.  Due to security clearance requirements, no substitutions are permitted after September 22, 2008. 

If you register and later determine you are unable to attend because you do not have the proper clearance, your written cancellation and confirmation from your security officer, must be received prior to September 8, 2008 to qualify for a refund.

Symposium Start Times

Each day the Symposium will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Security Clearance Certification

All attendees must be registered, cleared Top Secret, and currently indoctrinated for SI and TK access.
 

Attendees WITH IC blue or green badges do not need to pass clearances.


Attendees WITHOUT IC blue or green badges must arrange for their Special Security Officer (SSO) or Contractor Special Security Officer (CSS) to send an SSO- or CSSS- originated clearance certification message to the NRO. 


The clearance message must include the following:

  • Attendee’s full name
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number (US Citizen)* or

    Passport Number (Non-US Citizen)

  • Rank or Grade
  • Security Clearance Level and Accesses Authorization
  • Date of Visit: October 15-16, 2008
  • Purpose of Visit: AFCEA Intelligence Symposium

*Authority for soliciting Social Security Numbers (SSAN) is Executive Order 9397. SSAN’s will be used to identify attendees within the NRO’s access approval system. Disclosure of a SSAN is voluntary, but failure to do so may result in delay or denial of access to NRO facilities.

Registration & Clearance Deadline: September 22, 2008

Timely passage of your clearance/accesses is important. Please note the submission deadline.  If your clearance is not passed as required, you will not be able to attend the symposium.  Deadline for submitting clearances is September 22, 2008.

All symposium attendees will be required to show a valid state or federal issued photo identification (i.e. a drivers license, state identification card, passport). Non-US Citizens will be required to show a valid passport.

  • 2 Way Transmission Devices (PED’s) to include 2 way pagers,

cell phones and picture phones, palm pilots, blackberries

  • Blue tooth technology
  • Any recording device – e.g. photo, audio & video
  • Personal Laptops and associated media including memory sticks
  • Personal Software
  • Personally produced audio media
  • Weapons and Explosives
  • Alcohol
  • Illegal substances
  • Animals – excluding service animals
  • Briefcases/Luggage

Take the Capital Beltway (495) to 66 West to exit 53B, 28 North. Proceed on 28 North for 1.4 miles and take the Westfields Boulevard exit (on the right) heading West.  Drive approximately .2 miles and turn right onto Stonecroft Boulevard. Drive approximately .5 miles and turn right on Lee Road. Proceed on Lee Road for .7 miles and turn right into the second entrance of the National Reconnaissance Office. Follow AFCEA parking signs to the parking lot, park your vehicle, and proceed to the Visitors’ Center.
