Once the NRO auditorium is filled, Symposium presentations will be televised on large screens in adjacent rooms with overflow seating.  Auditorium seating will be filled on a first-come first-served basis each day.

Special Notice Regarding Government and Military Attendee Fees

AFCEA Intelligence is offering a special discounted registration rate for active federal government and military personnel.  This special rate does not apply to contractors who work for or with the government or military.

Member Registration Discounts

On the registration form there is a discounted rate for AFCEA members.  To receive the member rate for conference registration you must be an active AFCEA individual member or designated associate member of an AFCEA corporate member company.  If you sign up for the member rate and do not meet the criteria, you will be charged the correct rate.

Cancellations, Refunds and Substitutions

Refund requests must be emailed to Gretchen Eisenhower and received no later than September 1, 2011. No substitutions are permitted after September 12, 2011.

If you register and later determine that you are unable to attend because you do not have the proper security clearance, you must submit a cancellation request in writing to AFCEA Intelligence, 4400 Fair Lakes Court, Fairfax, VA, 22033, no later than September 1, 2011.  Your request must be accompanied by a written statement from your security officer confirming that you do not have a Top Secret clearance with SI/TK access.

Symposium Start Times

Each day the Symposium will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Security Clearance Certification

All attendees must be cleared for Top Secret, and currently indoctrinated for SI and TK access at the time you register.**

Attendees WITH IC blue or green badges do not need to pass clearances.***

Attendees WITHOUT IC blue or green badges must arrange for their Special Security Officer (SSO) or Contractor Special Security Officer (CSS) to send an SSO- or CSSS- originated clearance certification message to the NRO. 

The clearance message must include the following:

Attendee’s full name
Date of Birth
Social Security Number*
Rank or Grade
Security Clearance Level and Access Authorization
Date of Visit: October 12-13, 2011
Purpose of Visit: AFCEA Intelligence Symposium

*Authority for soliciting Social Security Numbers (SSAN) is Executive Order 9397. SSAN’s will be used to identify attendees within the NRO’s access  approval system. Disclosure of a SSAN is voluntary, but failure to do so may result in delay or denial of access to NRO facilities.

**The NRO does not grant interim TK access--applicants for registration must be cleared TS//SI/TK.  The NRO will not provide any "read-in/read-out" security services.

***Symposium attendees whether IC badged or not must process through the visitor center to obtain a conference badge.

Timely passage of your clearance/accesses is important. If your clearance is not passed as required, you will not be able to attend the symposium.  Deadline for submitting clearances is September 12, 2011.

All symposium attendees will be required to show a valid state or federal issued photo identification (i.e. a drivers license, state identification card, passport). Non-US citizens will be required to show a valid passport. 

Prohibited Items

  • Two-way transmission devices including pagers and all cell phones
  • Any recording device – e.g. photo, audio and video
  • Laptops and associated media including memory sticks
  • Weapons and explosives
  • Alcohol
  • Illegal substances
  • Animals – excluding service animals
  • Briefcases/luggage

Take the Capital Beltway (495) to 66 West to exit 53B, 28 North. Proceed on 28 North for 1.4 miles and take the Westfields Boulevard exit (on the right) heading West.  Drive approximately .2 miles and turn right onto Stonecroft Boulevard. Drive approximately .5 miles and turn right on Lee Road. Proceed on Lee Road for .7 miles and turn right into the second entrance of the National Reconnaissance Office. Follow AFCEA parking signs to the parking lot, park your vehicle, and proceed to the Visitors’ Center.
