Welcome to the 31st annual AFCEA Fall Intelligence Symposium!
Integrating the Intelligence Community (IC) Enterprise is the one of the highest priorities for the leadership of the IC. In addition, the IC has been challenged by the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) to identify and harvest substantial savings from IT investments. At the same time, investments must be made that will continue to enable the IC to fulfill traditional strategic requirements for national policymakers as well as tactical requirements in support of military and contingency operations.
Given the current fiscal and national security environments, the AFCEA Fall Intelligence Symposium will explore in depth the IC Enterprise IT Efficiency Initiative. Featured speakers including Mr. Chris Inglis, Deputy Director, National Security Agency; Mr. Al Tarasiuk, Intelligence Community/CIO; Mr. Richard Spires, Department of Homeland Security/CIO; and Mr. David Zanca, Senior Vice President, Information Technology, Customer Access & Revenue Systems, Fed Ex Services; will set stage for in-depth discussions in four focused sessions.
Session one will review how the DNI and the IC have developed the standards for IT modernization and whether the standards are the right ones to ensure successful and efficient modernization. The second session will examine the disruptive change that virtualization has spawned within Industry and how the IC is embracing this shift in the Intelligence Integration. Session three will address the challenges and opportunities for both Government and Industry to describe their vision of trusted security services within a unified cloud architecture. The final session will explore the challenges of transforming culture to align with technology modernization.
As a special feature, the symposium will end with a classified panel discussion moderated by Mr. Al Tarasiuk, IC/CIO and including CIOs from CIA, DIA, NGA, NRO, NSA, and FBI.
AFCEA also will honor The Honorable Stephanie O’Sullivan, the recipient of the 2012 Charlie Allen Award for Intelligence Service.
In addition, there will be plenty of time for networking and an exhibit area showcasing the latest in intelligence technologies.
We hope you will join us in the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, on October 24-25, 2012 for the AFCEA Fall Intelligence Symposium.
Sincerely,
