An Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) success story

LTC C.P. Watkins, Director, 2d Signal Center/CTNOSC

ITIL has been getting a lot of press these days and there are many resources available to understand what ITIL is on an academic level.  However, few practical examples of a successful ITIL implementation with real, measurable, and demonstrable return on investment exist in the Army.  Since 2007, the CTNOSC has been transforming to an ITIL organization and realized a $2 Million cost reduction in the first year of implementation.  It's been hard work but the incentive to realize efficiencies and stand on solid doctrinal ground has been a driving force.  This presentation will cover some of the ITIL processes we've implemented but also the organization and environment we've created to inculcate these processes.
