This briefing describes Identity Assurance in action. The Federation for Identity and Cross-Credentialing Systems (FiXs) is a coalition of commercial companies, government contractors, and not-for-profit organizations whose mission is to establish and maintain a worldwide, interoperable identity and cross-credentialing network built on security, privacy, trust, standard operating rules, policies, and technical standards. The audience will learn about the FiXs network verifies and authenticates the identity of personnel seeking to enter U.S. military installations and other government-controlled areas, as well as commercial sites tied to the network. A hands-on demonstration will also be provided.

The Card: What is a FiXs Card . . . What can I do with it?

This briefing will describe the components that constitute a FiXs Certified Credential. The audience will learn about the vetting processes that were used to verify an individual who holds a FiXs card, the multiple background investigation levels for individual employees and the physical and logical components of a FiXs Certified Credential.  This briefing will describe the details of a cardholder’s identity attributes, how the FiXs card can be implemented for logical and physical access and how the FiXs card aligns with HSPD-12 specifications. In addition, this briefing will demonstrate the real world operational value of a FiXs Certified Credential to base commanders and website and domain controller administrators, and lessons learned from the Synchronized Pre-Deployment Operational Tracking (SPOT) program.
