Auditorium and Overflow Seating

Once the NGA auditorium is filled, Event presentations will be televised on large screens in adjacent rooms with overflow seating.  Auditorium seating will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.

Special Notice Regarding Government and Military Attendee Fees

AFCEA Intelligence is offering a complimentary registration rate for active federal government and military personnel.  This special rate does not apply to contractors who work for or with the government or military.

Member Registration Discounts

On the registration form there is a discounted rate for AFCEA members.  To receive the member rate for event registration you must be an active AFCEA individual member or designated associate member of an AFCEA corporate member company.  If you sign up for the member rate and do not meet the criteria, you will be charged the correct rate.

Cancellations, Refunds and Substitutions

Refund requests must be emailed to Chris Gogoel and received no later than May 12, 2014 to be eligible for a refund. No substitutions are permitted after May 19, 2014.

If you register and later determine that you are unable to attend because you do not have the proper security clearance, a refund request must be emailed to Chris Gogoel and received no later than May 12, 2014 to be eligible for a refund. 

Security Clearance Certification

Attendees must be US citizens and possess a minimum SECRET clearance at the time of event registration.**

Attendees WITH IC blue or green badges do not need to pass clearances.*** Please verify with your badging office that your IC badge is enabled to work at NGA facilities.

Attendees WITHOUT IC blue or green badges must arrange for their Special Security Officer (SSO) or Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) to send an SSO- or CSSO- originated clearance certification message to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

The clearance message must be on official letterhead and include the following:

  • Attendee’s full name
  • Country of Citizenship
  • Social Security Number*
  • Security Clearance Level and Accesses
  • Date of Visit: June 19, 2014
  • Purpose of Visit: NGA Industry Day
  • Attention: Workforce Support Center
  • Security POC: Darrell Anderson
  • Host POC: Chris Gogoel

*Authority for soliciting Social Security Numbers (SSAN) is Executive Order 9397. SSAN’s will be used to identify attendees within the NGA’s access approval system. Disclosure of a SSAN is voluntary, but failure to do so may result in delay or denial of access to the NGA VCC.

**The NGA does not grant interim SECRET access--applicants for registration must be cleared SECRET. The NGA will not provide any "read-in/read-out" security services.

***Event attendees whether IC badged or not must process through the visitor center to obtain a conference center badge.

Timely passage of your clearance/accesses is important. If your clearance is not passed as required, you will not be able to attend the event.

Directions from I-95 and Points South: 

  • Take I-95 North toward the Springfield Interchange
  • Take EXIT 166B/Backlick Road (VA-617 N) onto Fairfax County Pkwy (SR-286, formerly SR-7100)
  • Take Backlick Road North (VA-617 N)
  • Continue on Backlick Road (past Fullerton Road)  
  • At the intersection of Backlick Road & Barta Road, turn LEFT onto Barta Road
  • Go STRAIGHT at the intersection with Heller Road
  • Turn LEFT onto GEOINT Drive (toward NGA’s Main Gate)
  • Before entering Main Gate, turn RIGHT into the Visitor Parking Lot
  • After parking, check in at the Visitor Control Center

Directions from Springfield and the Franconia/Springfield Parkway:

  • Take Backlick Road South
  • At the intersection of Backlick Road & Barta Road, turn RIGHT onto Barta Road

  • Continue STRAIGHT on Barta Road to enter the Fort Belvoir North Area
