The Sarnoff Award, named after David Sarnoff, early radio pioneer, is presented annually to an individual of international renown who has made lasting and significant contributions to world peace and security. In addition, this individual has exhibited a sustained, personal commitment to enhancing the future of mankind through communications, electronics and information technology. Previous Sarnoff recipients include Vice President Dick Cheney, General Colin Powell, former Vice President Al Gore, Norm Augustine, Admiral Bobby Inman, Senator Barry Goldwater, Admiral Archie Clemins, The Honorable Duane Andrews, Dr. Ralph Shrader, General Richard Myers, Senator Daniel Inouye, Admiral Edmund Giambastiani, General Michael Hayden, General James Cartwright, and The Honorable John Warner.
