Industry Partnership Symposium

 

A half-day event organized by

the AFCEA International Small Business Committee.

 

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

 

Make plans to join us for this half-day event designed to help our small business member companies connect with large primes to discuss partnering and teaming opportunities.  Matchmaking appointments will be combined with concurrent plenary session content to maximize the value for your time.  Plenary topics will include briefs from several of the participating primes, tips on making the most out of prime meetings, and managing small business growth from a successful growing business.

Government and large businesses participants confirmed to date include: Accenture, Alion Science and Technology, Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics Information Technology, HP Enterprise Services, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Rockwell Collins, SAIC, Serco, SRA and U.S. Army CECOM-LCMC.  Capacity for matchmaking is limited to the first 40 corporate member companies to register.  Each small business will receive three (3) 15-minute prime appointments.

Symposium Only

$75 (includes speaker program, continental breakfast and networking reception at lunchtime.)

 

Symposium with Matchmaking

$125 (*limited to AFCEA Corporate member companies only, includes  three 15-minute matchmaking appointments in addition to speaker program, continental breakfast and networking reception at lunchtime. Second attendee from the same company may register at symposium only rate of $75.)

Matchmaking Appointments

 

Who should register for matchmaking?

AFCEA corporate member companies with strong niche capabilities and the ability to articulate the match between these and solutions for the U.S. DoD and other Federal agencies.

All categories of small business should attend. HUBZone, SDVOSB, and Woman-Owned small business are specifically sought. In addition, certifications like CMMI, ITIL and ISO are generally a plus.

 

Specific capabilities and past performance in the below areas are particularly sought:

What to expect:

You will receive an email with instructions for submitting capabilities and preferences for your three matchmaking appointments shortly after you register. Appointments will be assigned and communicated to you via email the in mid-May in order to give you plenty of time to prepare properly.

Each company registered for matchmaking will receive three (3) 15 minute appointments to meet with prime representatives. Prime participants are generally Small Business Utilization or Supplier Diversity program representatives. They are not decision makers but can be effective advocates within their organizations for small businesses capable of providing solutions to better serve the Government customer.

Concurrent plenary sessions will be ongoing throughout the morning in order to maximize value for your time between appointments. There will also be ample breaks for networking with other attendees. Remember to bring plenty of business cards.
