AFCEA Small Business Partnership Symposium

 

A half-day event organized by

the AFCEA International Small Business Committee.

 

Thursday, September 22, 2011

7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

 

Make plans to join us for this half-day event designed to help our small business members gain market insight and connect with large primes to discuss partnering and teaming opportunities.  Plenary topics are focused on serving a U.S. Army customer.

Through a separate registration, a limited number of matchmaking appointments will be run concurrently with the plenary session content to maximize the value for your time. Government and large businesses participants confirmed to date include: Alion Science and Technology, American Systems, BAE Systems, Booz Allen Hamilton, CGI (Stanley), CSC, General Dynamics Information Technology, HP, 

L-3, Northrop Grumman, Pragmatics, SAIC, Serco, SNVC, Sotera and U.S. Army CECOM-LCMC. Capacity for the matchmaking option is limited to the first 40 companies to register.  Each small business will be limited to three (3) 15-minute prime appointments.

Symposium Only Registration    $75 member/ $90 non-member

 

(includes speaker program, morning refreshments and networking reception at lunchtime)

 

 

Symposium plus Matchmaking Registration    $135 member/ $150 non-member

(includes three 15-minute matchmaking appointments in addition to speaker program, morning refreshments and networking reception at lunchtime)

 

***Each company is limited to 3 pre-arranged appointments.***

A second attendee may attend the company's appointments at a discount by registering with the symposium only link (blue button above).***

 

Matchmaking Details:

 

Who should register for matchmaking?

Companies with strong niche capabilities and the ability to articulate the match between these and solutions for the U.S. DoD and other Federal agencies. All categories of small business should attend. HUBZone, SDVOSB, and Woman-Owned small business are specifically sought. In addition, certifications like CMMI, ITIL and ISO are a plus.

Specific capabilities and past performance in the below areas are particularly sought:

What to expect:

You will receive an email with instructions for submitting capabilities and preferences for your three matchmaking appointments shortly after you register. Appointments will be assigned and communicated to you via email in advance in order to give you time to prepare properly.

Each company registered for matchmaking will receive three (3) 15 minute appointments to meet with prime representatives. Prime participants are generally Small Business Utilization or Supplier Diversity program representatives. They are not decision makers but can be effective advocates within their organizations for small businesses capable of providing solutions to better serve the Government customer.

Concurrent plenary sessions will be ongoing throughout the morning in order to maximize value for your time between appointments. There will also be ample breaks for networking with other attendees. Remember to bring plenty of business cards.
