DIRECTIONS

From points north of DC:

Take the Capital Beltway (495) to the Baltimore/Washington Parkway (295) South. Follow 295 to Exit 1, US Naval Research Lab. As you exit, stay in the right lane and turn right on Overlook Avenue. Proceed for approximately 1/2 mile. Overlook Avenue leads directly into the South Gate of Bolling Air Force Base.   (This is the only base entrance that will be ready to facilitate your entry.)

From points south of DC:

Take the Capital Beltway (495) to the Baltimore Washington Parkway (295) North. Follow 295 to Exit 1, US Naval Research Lab. As you exit, stay in the right lane and turn right on Overlook Avenue. Proceed for approximately 1/2 mile. Overlook Avenue leads directly into the South Gate of Bolling Air Force Base.  (This is the only base entrance that will be ready to facilitate your entry.)  Please allow extra time for travel due to the construction on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.

Please be advised that due to this Symposium the South Gate will be very busy and may have delays.  Plan to arrive early and when possible, carpool with others.

For a Google map of the South Gate, please click here.

Once you are through security at the South Gate, proceed to the DIAC on Chappie James Boulevard for approximately one and a half miles.  The DIAC will be on your right at the corner of Chappie James Boulevard and MacDill Boulevard.  To enter the DIAC, see "DIAC Entry" below.

PARKING

On Bolling AFB, you may park in any open, unrestricted spot, but you likely will find available parking very limited.

Two specific parking garages have been designated for symposium attendees.  These garages (two-story cement structures labeled 357 and 358) are located off Thomas Road (once through the South Gate proceed two miles on Chappie James and make a right onto Thomas Road.  The parking garages will be on your left.)  Shuttle buses will run approximately every 15 minutes from the parking garages to the DIAC.

Please note that parking at the Commissary is prohibited.

For the location of parking options, please click here.

DIAC ENTRY

All Symposium attendees must enter the DIAC through the "new" main entrance located at the corner of Chappie James Boulevard and MacDill Boulevard.

For a schematic showing the new DIAC entrance, please click here.

METRO

Due to limited parking on Bolling Air Force Base, the DIAC suggests using the Metro as an alternative.  Take the Metro Green Line to the Anacostia stop.  Look for the shuttle bus marked DIAC, this shuttle will take you directly to the DIAC.  You will be required to show a valid state or federal issued photo identification (i.e. a drivers license, state identification card, passport).
