Intelligence Professionals:

Welcome to the 29th annual AFCEA Spring Intelligence Symposium!

With this event, the government and industry members of the AFCEA Intelligence Committee are pleased to present a classified agenda that will examine the state of Intelligence Community (IC) R&D.  During two full days, speakers from across the R&D spectrum will explore how the public and private sectors work with the IC to ensure that it has both state of the art capabilities and avoids technological surprise. Key Community leaders will provide their perspectives, adding context for four detailed sessions that will complete the program.

Session one will look at R&D from the IC agencies’ perspectives.  Session two will focus on industry R&D.  The third session will explore the concept of technological “surprise.”  The symposium will close with a look at technologies of interest or concern to the IC, including potential “game changers.”  As you review the program you will see we have added "Focus Questions" we have asked the speakers to address.

Attendees should leave with not only a greater understanding of how R&D is done in and for the IC, but with a sense of what technologies are most likely to impact intelligence and national security over the next decade.

In addition, an expanded exhibit area will showcase technologies impacting the IC today.

The goal of this event is twofold: To contribute to the ongoing dialogue within the Intelligence Community by providing with a content-rich program and to enhance your professional development and networking.

We hope you will join us in the Defense Intelligence Analysis Center (DIAC), Bolling AFB, Washington, DC, on April 21-22, 2010, for this important dialogue.
