TechNet Land Forces EventsThe TechNet Land Forces conference series recently evolved from and replaces the annual LandWarNet Conference. The purpose is to provide a forum for the Army and Marine Corps, as well as DoD Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard security forces, to discuss issues and share ideas for solutions. Each event will have a different regional and operational focus:
2013 Events
"Cyberspace Operations - Prevent, Shape and Win"
"Operating & Defending the Cyberspace: Tomorrow's Playbook" The overall theme of TechNet Land Forces - Southwest is Network Security and Operations with a focus on the ground component of the Army and Marine Corps, including components of Homeland Security, Industry, Academia, and Border Control. The operational theme of the first conference is “Operating and Defending the Cyberspace: Tomorrow’s Playbook” and focuses on an industry parallel with the Department of Defense in the defense of the cyber space, impact of mobile communications on the battlefield, and training tomorrow’s cyber warriors. Government, industry, and academia speakers will address a broad range of topics and focus on the challenges of network security issues of today and training cyber warriors of tomorrow.
"Connecting Joint & Coalition Partners for the Next Fight" The overall theme of TechNet Land Forces - South is Joint and Coalition with a focus on the ground component of the Army and Marine Corps, including U.S. Special Operations Command, U.S. Central Command, U.S. Southern Command, Marine Corps Southern Command, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Air Force, Coalition Forces in Southern Afghanistan, Academia, and Industry Partners. The operational theme "Connecting Joint and Coalition Partners for the Next Fight" focuses on how the DoD teams with Joint, Coalition, Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs), and Interagency Organizations to overcome the tests we will face in the future. This conference will not only look at the missions of deployed forces, but also how the U.S. protects its borders. DoD, government, industry, and academia speakers will address critical topics and focus on the challenges of working with Joint/Coalition organizations, and NGOs to ensure the command and control is effective and safe throughout the operating spaces.
