Biography of Captain Warren G. (Bud) Schneeweis, USCG- Retired

Director, Benefits Information Department

 

Captain Schneeweis joined the staff of the Military Officers Association of America in 2001 and became Director of the Benefits Information Department in 2003.  During his nearly 28 years in the Coast Guard, Captain Bud Schneeweis has served in a wide variety of operational assignments from Alaska to the Caribbean, including command of five cutters or shore units.  His final two Coast Guard tours were as Chief of Public Affairs and Commander, Coast Guard Recruiting Command.  

 

A native of Willow Grove, PA, Capt Schneeweis is a 1973 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a BS in Economics and Management.   He holds advanced degrees in Human Resources Management from Pepperdine University and in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island, and a Certificate in Information Technology from the University of Virginia.

 

His military decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal (3), the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, the Coast Guard Achievement Medal (3), and three Humanitarian Service Medals.
