"Marketing Yourself for a Second Career" and "Evaluating Employee Benefits Packages"

Brought to you by

Tuesday, June 19

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Military Officers Association of America’s “Marketing Yourself for a Second Career” transition lecture program was founded in 1982 and today MOAA provides over 150 lectures annually on military installations throughout the United States and overseas. It has a reputation as a “must attend” event for service members and their spouses three years or less from separation or retirement.

The free presentation includes introducing the audience to the realities of the competitive civilian job market, perceptions civilian employers have regarding military personnel, a plan for job searching, tips for strengthening resumes, networking outlines, planning for and conducting successful interviews, and negotiating salary and benefit packages. All attendees will receive a free copy of MOAA’s Marketing Yourself for a Second Career publication.

The MOAA "Evaluating Employee Benefits Packages" free seminar is a professional lecture for officers and NCOs on evaluating civilian employee benefits packages, including healthcare, retirement plans and fringe benefits. You'll learn about the challenges facing civilian employers in today's job market, what to expect from civilian healthcare and retirement plans, how life and disability insurance plans work, what fringe benefits to expect, how flexible spending accounts work, and negotiating tips to put more money in your pocket.

Mr. Phillip Dyer, CFP, the seminar lecturer, served over five years as an officer in the U.S. Army and has over 10 years of experience providing financial education lectures to government, non-profit, educational and corporate audiences. He currently conducts more than 70 educational lectures a year for active duty military audiences at installations around the country.

Spouses and civilians are also invited to attend these seminars.

These lectures are produced and presented by the Military Officers Association of America Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide quality educational programming, reference materials and guidance for members of the military community. The foundation has been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
