Raytheon Becomes Title Sponsor of

National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition

Raytheon has become the title sponsor of the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCDC) in a three-year partnership deal. Engineering Services Network to Support 99th Communication Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base With Transition to New Communications Facility

Engineering Services Network, Inc. (ESN) announced today that it has won a $700,000 contract to support the 99th Communication Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base, NV. The contract is being managed by the 38th Cyberspace Engineering Installation Group (38 CEIG) at Tinker Air Force Base, OK. Thales’s Watchkeeper given Release To Service by UK Ministry of Defence

Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, March 3, 2014

Watchkeeper, the unmanned aircraft system (UAS) developed by Thales for the British Army, has been given a Release To Service by the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MOD). Watchkeeper is the first UAS to be awarded a full Release To Service (RTS), and is the only UAS of its type allowed to fly in UK airspace. The RTS follows the MOD’s rigorous safety and airworthiness reviews to ensure the system can be operated safely by the British Army. It will support British Army operations by allowing training on the system in the UK.

Thales IFF Equipment Selected for French Chalres de Gaulle Aircraft Carrier and Horizon Frigates

As part of contracts awarded by the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA), DCNS has selected Thales to equip the French Navy's Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier and the two French Horizon-class frigates with latest-generation IFF identification systems. The installation of these new systems, part of Thales's BlueGate product family, will overcome the limitations of the systems currently in service and provide the vessels with an effective Mode 5 / Mode S capability. The upgrade to the latest NATO IFF standard will enable the warships to perform military missions with the highest levels of security, dependability and integrity (Mode 5), and better identify civil aircraft (Mode S).
