George's Observations

It is easy to imagine Afghanistan as hell on earth, a war-torn, poverty-stricken, hate-filled land of desolation. But it is more—a starkly beautiful, ancient land rich in history and culture. Some of the military members and NATO employees in the country say they hope someday to return to a more peaceful, prosperous and self-sufficient Afghanistan.
