NORTHERN VIRGINIA CHAPTER Chapter • Mar 04, 2009

In March, the chapter sponsored its annual Naval Information Technology Day, which serves as an opportunity for industry professionals to engage in dialogue with senior leaders of the Department of the Navy. Civilian and military leaders from the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps shared their vision and plans for exploiting technology to provide Naval forces with information superiority in expeditionary warfare. Department leaders explored the operational trends, warfighter experiences and maritime strategies that underpin needed capabilities, including maritime domain awareness, effective expeditionary coalitions, improved network capacities, enhanced multilevel security, and information interoperability across government and nongovernment agencies.
