CENTRAL MARYLAND CHAPTER Chapter • Nov 15, 2011

Online Only

In November, Woodside Elementary hosted a STEM Night along with the Anne Arundel County Public School science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) coordinators where chapter representatives participated. Approximately 20 technology professionals were on site setting up displays and speaking to students about STEM-related careers. A number of hands-on sessions were conducted, including art, robotics and music, as well as a travelling planetarium show. The chapter's table-top presentation for the students, presented by Nteligen (a local small business), gave a quick overview of steganography (at the elementary school level). The chapter representatives showed how secret messages could be hidden inside popular images (like Pixar cartoons, Ravens players, etc).
