Speaker Addresses Progress in Iraq

In December, Herb Hunter, Air Force Program Executive Office, Business Enterprise Systems, provided an overview of his experience as a civilian leader during a recent tour of duty in Iraq. Hunter identified this unique opportunity as one of his life's “top seven bucket list” items. He enlightened the sold-out audience by recounting of how far the U.S.-Iraq relationship has advanced, and he introduced an overview of Iraq culture and its impact on the joint decision-making process. Finally, he closed with his personal thoughts on the future of Iraq and challenged the audience and rising civilian leaders to step outside of their daily duties and volunteer for similar experiences to gain a better perspective on support to U.S. and allied combat operations.
