A gorgeous September evening provided the backdrop for the chapter's Night at the Yard. Die-hard baseball fans and casual observers were treated to a fantastic event. Despite the looming threat of rain, everybody turned out and was rewarded with an exciting late inning 5-4 victory by the home team Orioles. Oriole fans saw a victory, Yankee fans got to dispute it, and Red Sox fans got the next best thing. The chapter held the pregame party in Camden Clubhouse, which provided a warm buffet, a dry place to network and a beautiful view overlooking the field. AFCEA members arrived with family and friends alike to provide tremendous support purchasing approximately 600 tickets for the September 8 event. The silent auction was a big hit, and attendees took home some great deals while raising money for the chapter's scholarship fund. The chapter gave special thanks to Booz Allen Hamilton, L-3 Communications and General Dynamics for having the highest number of attendees as well as all the volunteers who made it a successful outing. |
