Award Winners Recognized

The chapter's January meeting was devoted to the recognition of civilian, enlisted and commissioned U.S. Air Force personnel working at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. These awards, given annually by the Air Force, are for outstanding performance in the fields of communications and information at a professional level. For the 45th Space Wing, Col. Douglas Schiess, USAF, commander, 45th Operations Group, presented the certificates to 15 individuals and three technical teams. Col. Jay Bruhl, USAF, director of logistics and systems for the Air Force Technical Applications Center, recognized 11 winners from his organization. Special recognition also was accorded to Steve Smith and Ronald Surovec whose outstanding job performances were recognized at Headquarters Air Force Space Command. Additionally, the entire 45th Space Communications Squadron (45SCS) was recognized as the winner of the 14th Air Force Lt. Gen. Harold W. Grant Award. Lt. Col. April Cantwell, USAF, 45SCS commander, accepted the certificate for the organization.
