KAISERSLAUTERN CHAPTER CHAPTER - Jan 23, 2013

Visit to NASA Laboratory

Sunny days, In-and-Out Burger and warmer weather greeted four chapter members during their visit to AFCEA West in San Diego in January. The purpose of this “hardship” trip to AFCEA's annual conference in California was to receive annual awards representing the hard work and dedication of the chapter to the Kaiserslautern military community. At the end of the conference though, the chapter members had the opportunity to visit NASA's Joint Propulsion Laboratory and to see first hand where NASA's spacecraft, such as Mars Curiosity, get developed. The personal tour for the members took them throughout the campus to see where the spacecraft were tested, the launch control room and even a mountain high overview of the entire facility. As hard as it was to leave beautiful winter Germany for the sunny and warm beaches of California, the chapter members fought on and enjoyed their time.
