Luncheon Covers AFLCMC Progress and Challenges

Larry Coe, chapter vice president for programs, hosted the first annual State of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) luncheon at the Burlington Marriott Hotel in February. Guest speaker, Lt. Gen. C.D. Moore II, USAF, commander, AFLCMC, discussed progress and challenges standing up AFLCMC and the importance of Hanscom Air Force Base’s command and control mission to the center. In around four months, the center combined approximately 450 investment programs, 500 sustainment programs and 1,450 joint/internal programs at more than 77. The general also discussed the AFLCMC’s strategic objectives including delivering cost effective acquisition solutions and providing affordable and effective product support. Scott Hardiman, chapter president, then presented a $2,500 check for the Air Force Enlisted Education Fund to Senior Master Sgt. Huberty. Marie McClanahan was also recognized by Hardiman as the chapter’s AFCEAN of the Quarter for her numerous contributions. McClanahan has supported the chapter for more than 25 years in numerous capacities and has won several prestigious international awards. Shannon Sullivan, regional vice president, followed the speaker and awards by acknowledging Young AFCEANs who were award recipients at the annual AFCEA West conference in San Diego in January. These included: Stephan Nadeau from Wyle, Distinguished Young AFCEAN; Matt Deutsch with the AFLCMC, Regional Distinguished Young AFCEAN; and Capt. Charles O’Conner, USAF, Emerging Leadership Award. The luncheon concluded with the presentation of a $500 check to Gen. Moore for Hanscom’s Operation Concern, which supports the community and families of deployed personnel.
