KAISERSLAUTERN CHAPTER CHAPTER - Jul 16, 2013

Summer Technology Expo Held

The chapter hosted its annual summer technology exposition at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. This year's theme was “COMMbat: a Different Kind of War; a Different Kind of Warrior.” The event was sponsored by U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa/A-6 and took place in July. It showcased cutting-edge technology with more than 70 vendors and seven seminars focusing on cyber and communications professions. The seminars ranged from the Air Force centralized management of VoIP communications to virtual desktop infrastructure and thin clients. The tech expo also culminated months of training for hackINT, the chapter's ethical hacking group. hackINT trained more than 30 personnel on fundamentals of forensics, intelligence, hacking and defense and displayed their training with a hacking tournament at the expo. This year's event attracted more than 750 Air Force, Army and NATO visitors, and the chapter is looking forward to welcoming the vendors back for this year's Winter Expo.
