Grant Awarded to National Flight Academy

In October, the chapter along with the AFCEA Educational Foundation awarded a STEM Teaching Tools grant to the National Flight Academy (NFA) at the Fish House. The $2,000 STEM Teaching Tools grant (2012-2013) was awarded to the NFA as a joint effort between the individual chapter and the Educational Foundation to promote effective science teaching and to enhance the abilities of capable teachers in K-12 schools. “We are quite honored that AFCEA has chosen the National Flight Academy as a worthy recipient for a donation to our scholarship fund,” professed Karen Sindel, sales manager, NFA. The NFA can use the grant monies to purchase supplies and/or equipment, or to go toward teacher scholarships that would augment their science and/or information technology activities in their in-residence program located adjacent to the National Naval Aviation Museum aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. The NFA is a subsidiary program of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation Incorporated, which is authorized but not endorsed or funded by the U.S. Navy or the U.S. government.
