AFCEA EUROPE CHAPTER - Oct 24, 2013

New AFCEA Student Clubs at TechNet International 2013

Following the unique path of the first AFCEA Student Club at DEREE-The American College of Greece (est. 2009), four brand new European AFCEA student clubs were established (two in Portugal, one in the Czech Republic and one in Slovakia) and their representatives followed the October TechNet International 2013 event in Lisbon for the first time. In this way, more and more students are being introduced to the AFCEA ethical forum, providing the core for new Young AFCEANs in Europe. A bright example is Androniki Nikolakopoulou from DEREE College, who was introduced to TechNet Europe (Lisbon, 2005) early in her undergraduate years by her mentor Professor Harry Athanasopoulos. Eight years later and after being to 10 TechNets, three student conferences and attracting tens of fellow students to AFCEA, Nikolakopoulou returned to Lisbon to celebrate her Master of Science in security and risk management with her inspiring AFCEA leadership.
