Women in Intelligence Group Engages Across the Community

The Women in the Intelligence Group (WIIG) socials continue to expand their reach within the local chapter community with events hosted at various company headquarters. The community has been very excited by this aspect of moving the WIIG Social locations around the community. It allows for more people to participate in these events and introduces WIIG members to different parts of the community, said Colleen Dilly, vice president of WIIG. WIIG Social sponsors have the opportunity to host an event at a local restaurant or at their company headquarters. Most recently, WIIG Holiday Social sponsor InfoTek chose to showcase their offices and networking with the company’s staff and executives by hosting the social at their location in December. The crowd is always different with many new participants joining returning guests, who all shared in the wonderful food and drink made available through InfoTek’s support. The growth in the program is attributed to a strong word of mouth combined with a very active social media component. The event networking revealed there are many other WIIG programs attendees are interested in. From the Book Club to the Speaker Series, the networking provided the opportunity for all to share their experiences in these additional programs with other WIIG members. Many of the participants at the Holiday Social at InfoTek shared that being part of the WIIG team for the chapter 5K is being added to their New Year’s resolutions.
