In January, the chapter, along with Microsoft Italy, organized a workshop titled "Technology, Solutions and Devices for Mobile Applications" in Rome at The School of Communications and Data Processing of the Italian Army. The event aimed to share Microsoftís strategy on devices and services in the field of security with references to the military. During the workshop, an audience of more than 120 guests heard scenarios and solutions to meet the challenges of digital innovation in public administration with a particular focus toward the military.

The event targeted business development management and information technology development management related to the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior and Carabinieri. With this in mind, the Microsoft Italy event, made possible thanks to the contribution of partners such as Nokia, Panosonic, Dell, Asus, K2B and ESRI, presented a wide overview of the devices and application solutions presently on the market. This included the presentation of Microsoft strategy within the devices and services market with the support of Surface and Lumia. In addition, new complex platforms can now be used for the fight against counterfeiting; for monitoring, detecting and managing the spread of influenza viruses; or for the early detection of outbreaks due to actions of biological terrorism. Current platforms can also function for analysis and reading clinical reports with a goal to streamline the management of the patient, clinical outcomes and personnelóa universe of innovative digital solutions for government that operate in the field of defense.

Microsoft Italy also presented an offer it built in collaboration with its partners to publish in MEPA, the Electronic Market of Public Administration. The meeting received very positive feedback, not only for the format and contact but with regard to the exhibition area, created for the occasion, which offered valuable networking moments where participants could meet partners and improve knowledge about elements of interest. It also included practical demonstrations of functioning devices and application solutions.
