STEM: A Wine Tasting Event

In April, the AFCEA Hawaii Educational Foundation (AHEF) held its inaugural fundraising event. The well-attended event was a wine tasting and silent auction gala at the Plaza Club in Honolulu. The evening was emceed by Gunnery Sgt. Patrick Tyrrell, USMC (Ret.), and included wine tastings and pupus (appetizers), live music by Brian Chang and Michael Chung, raffles and a silent auction. Funds raised will be used to fund scholarships and grants awarded to deserving students and educators. Special thanks goes to: Farrah Burke, AHEF secretary; Cathy Burtless, AHEF chairperson; Craig Chang, AHEF treasurer; Jane Ferreira, AHEF executive director; Adm. Richard Macke, USN (Ret.), AHEF director; Danny Matsushita; Moune Tabalno; and Natalie Young-Aranita, AHEF marketing and communications director, for organizing a great event along with volunteers Russell Au, Dave Burtless, Dave Grumling, Cory Lindo, Susie Macke, Gary Murakami, Shelley Rowley, Donna Russell and Eddie Sandell.
