WASHINGTON DC CHAPTER CHAPTER - Nov 17, 2014 |
Chapter Recognizes AFCEANS of the Month |
Sarah Djamshidi and Carmen McCarthy, two women with exemplary leadership skills and deeply involved in the government and government IT contracting industry, were chosen as the AFCEAN and Young AFCEAN, respectively, for the month of November. Djamshidi, managing director, National Capital Companies, and president and managing partner, SpeedShift Ventures, has been a great supporter of the chapter's Cyber and Emerging Technology summits and has contributed her expertise to running the innovation contests hosted at Summit Days held throughout the year. She coached each of the winning companies and worked to fine-tune their pitch, enabling them to deliver their message in a dynamic, concise manner. These contests provide an important chance for the chapter's member companies to showcase their product/solution set to a large audience and gain immediate exposure. Professionally, Djamshidi serves as the executive director of the Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC), the nation's first homeland, national and cyber security accelerator, where she lead the turnaround of the organization after being recruited by CIC's board of directors. |
