Chapter Hosts Holiday Social
The chapter hosted its annual December holiday social for members and guests at the Hanscom Air Force Base Minuteman Commons. Capt. Nick Setterberg, USAF, master of ceremonies, welcomed distinguished guests, including special guest Lt. Gen. John Thompson, USAF, commander, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). Following introductions, a moment of silence was observed in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Dave Hiltz, chapter president and Bud Vazquez, New England-Upstate New York regional vice president, followed presenting “Unsung Hero” awards to recipients who made outstanding, but unheralded, contributions to their respective organizations during the past year. AFLCMC Program Executive Officer (PEO) Steve Wert, Battlement Management; Maj. Gen. Dwyer Dennis, PEO, C3I and Networks; AFLCMC Program Management Site Senior Functional Leader, Col. Alfonso La Puma, director, AFNWC/NC; Col. Roman Hund, commander 66th Air Base Group; Sue Angell, director, Acquisition Center of Excellence; and Lt. Col. Dana Sanders-Udo, Massachusetts National Guard joined Hiltz and Vazquez in the presentation ceremony. Unsung Heroes included Keith Taylor, Battle Management; Ira Zigalbaum, C3I & Networks; Jessica Casserly, 66h ABG Public Affairs; Deb McKenna, Acquisition Center for Excellence; Beth Rogers, AFNWC/NC; Tanya Rioux, Massachusetts National Guard, Homeland Security Institute; and Matt Carroll. Capt. Setterberg thanked Raytheon for its generous sponsorship of the event and Harpoon Brewery as well for its support. Gen. Thompson concluded with congratulatory remarks and well wishes to all for a happy and safe holiday season.
