Air Force Personnel Receive Recognition
Recognition of civilian, enlisted and commissioned U.S. Air Force personnel was the focus of the chapter's March meeting. The personnel work at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, and the awards, given annually by the Air Force, are for outstanding performance in the fields of communications and information at a professional level. Heidi Hughes, chapter president, served as master of ceremonies. Col. Donna Rogers, USAF, vice commander, Armed Forces Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), helped present certificates to the seven winning AFTAC personnel; and Col. Bernie Gruber, USAF, 45th Operations Group Commander, delivered honors for the 13 winning individuals and two winning teams from the 45th Space Wing. Two Space Wing awardees and three AFTAC winners also received the award at the major command level, and the chapter offered them a year's membership in AFCEA. In addition, the Information Assurance team received the award as Wing Outstanding Assurance Team of the Year, and the C4I Resource Allocation Team won the Gen. Edwin W. Rawlings team award.
