Joint Training Enterprise

At the April meeting, Greg Knapp, executive director, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Joint Warfighting Center (JWFC), gave a talk on the Joint Training Enterprise and noted several key points regarding this effort. The JWFC, Knapp said, serves as the "operational arm" for delivering trained, capable and interoperable joint forces to the combatant commanders. Currently, the JWFC is conducting mission rehearsal exercises for operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa as part of the training enterprise. In addition, he noted, JWFC supports combatant command joint training events and warfighter capability development. Some of the tools used by the JWFC to perform these activities include modeling and simulation, Joint Knowledge Online, information operations range and the Virtual Integrated Support for the Information Operations eNvironment, or VISION.
