Medal of Honor Scholarship

 

 

The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation, in partnership with the AFCEA Educational Foundation, established the Medal of Honor scholarship and Distinguished Achievement scholarship. This program annually awards a $5,000 Medal of Honor scholarship and a $4,000 Distinguished Achievement scholarship to outstanding ROTC undergraduate students committed to serving in each the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps and enrolled in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). The recipients shall exemplify the spirit of courage, selflessness, service to country, and pursuit of academic and military excellence in their academic and military endeavors, and extracurricular activities.  The primary criteria for selection will be a candidate’s demonstrated leadership performance and potential, and strong commitment to serve in the United States Armed Forces.

Eligibility

Applicants are required to be a United States citizen enrolled in ROTC, be of good moral character, exhibit academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and have a demonstrated potential to serve as an officer in the United States Armed Forces.

The Medal of Honor and Distinguished Achievement Scholarship does not require a major related to the mission of AFCEA Educational Foundation.  Applicants must be attending an accredited four-year college or university in the United States, a least second-year students, enrolled full time as either a sophomore or junior at the time of application. Freshman and senior college students are ineligible to apply.

Applicants should apply using the AFCEA ROTC Scholarship - There is only one applicaion for all ROTC scholarships. Applicants must provide two Letters of Recommendation from faculty in their field of study. An official transcript including all college-level study as well as courses in progress is also required or certified website print-out signed by your unit.  All applications must be endorsed and submitted by the ROTC Professors of Military Science, Naval Science or Aerospace Studies to the AFCEA Educational Foundation.
