Business Focus:
Tempered Networks makes secure networking simple. We enable organizations to easily and instantly connect, segment and manage any of their networked ""things"" with native security and universal mobility. We believe security and simplicity should go hand-in-hand and that organizations should not have to compromise one for the other. Our Identity-Defined Networking (IDN) solution eliminates complexity and gives customers the freedom to connect anything without worry and get control over their networks. Customers achieve the benefits of Software-Defined Networking, only promised by others, and ensures that their network is resilient, nimble, and manageable. IDN is based on the Host Identity Protocol (HIP), which introduces verifiable trust for networks by binding permanent, location-independent cryptographic identities to machines and networks. Machines are identified using strong cryptographic identities in the form of 2048-bit RSA public keys. The advantage of HIP, versus protocols like IPsec, is that HIP has native security and was designed for mobility, which means devices can change their IP addresses without creating conflicts. Our solution effectively moves the network security perimeter down to individual machine. Resources within an identity-based micro-segment can securely connect to others regardless of location or network, overcoming previously costly and impassable network barriers.

Products/Services:
Identity-Defined Networks (IDN) are comprised of three primary software components. (1) IDN Orchestration - The Conductor (2) IDN Enforcement - HIP Services (3) IDN Routing - HIPrelay Our software has been designed to run nearly anywhere on almost any type of device, virtual machine, or cloud environment. The power and true business value of IDN is the simplicity of orchestration and enforcement, at scale.
