Our speaker Seth Martinez is originally from Weslaco, Texas. After graduating from high school, He attended first South Texas Community College, and then theUniversity of Texas Pan-American, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in the Arts for English in 2006. After receiving his degree, he entered into Military service for nearly a decade, serving first at Fort Bragg for seven years with the 3rd Psychological Operations Battalion, then finishing out his service at Fort Knox with the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command. In the military he served in roles such as AV Technician, VTC Technician, Sat-Comm Technician, IMO, 1st and 2nd tier Technical support, Concierge Technician, and Helpdesk Supervisor.
After leaving the military service, he felt compelled to stay in the Louisville/ Fort Knox area. He enrolled in the Sullivan University with the intention of switching his academic focus from the arts to the sciences,obtaining two Master's degrees; one in Cybersecurity, the other in ITManagement. Due to the nature of his work in the Military, he has been working in cybersecurity related fields for the better part of 15 years, with the last 2 years working specifically as a Cybersecurity specialist. Since then he has been the Training Coordinator for the Cybersecurity Division; researching compatibility of training with the mission and roles within the Cybersecurity Division, and has moved to become an all-around Technical Subject Matter Expert and Government Lead for the Application Security Team.
