05/14/2024 05/14/2024 Law Enforcement and Public Safety Technology Forum VA https://bethesdaevents.afceachapters.org/leaps24/Home?uid=65d614c25e68c Agencies must prevent crime, protect communities and businesses from cyber threats, and prepare for and respond to natural disasters. New tools and advanced technologies are needed to equip law enforcement and public safety personnel to identify and swiftly respond to incidents and emergencies. As a result, this year's Law Enforcement and Public Safety (LEAPS) Technology Forum will focus on Protection Through Prevention Empowered by Advanced Technologies. Key focus areas will include cyber resilience, data, artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing. In a world of evolving threats, achieving cyber resilience is critical. Agencies need visibility and situational awareness to protect critical infrastructure, information, and operations from cyber adversaries, while ensuring that they can fulfill their duties to serve and protect the public. Advanced monitoring and analytics are already being used to analyze crime data and patterns to identify high-risk areas and deploy resources proactively. Now, data insights are even more crucial for public safety as natural disasters occur more frequently and technological disasters such as power outages, chemical incidents, dam failures, and power plant failures threaten the safety of communities. The right data can enhance disaster preparedness, response, and recovery, giving government and emergency response officials early warning about impending threats so they can make more informed decisions to protect communities and save lives. Meanwhile, agencies are embracing AI and cloud computing to boost public safety and streamline operations. AI is an essential component of strong cloud computing because it can track data and web traffic, as well as process large amounts of data from a variety of devices and sources to aid investigations and emergency response. At the 16th annual LEAPS Technology Forum, AFCEA Bethesda will help government and industry share how advanced technology keeps communities safe and prevents harm. Keynote speakers will share valuable insights and expert perspectives, panel discussions and roundtables will provide a forum for engaging and interactive dialog, and industry participants will show how they can introduce innovations to their government clients.

06/06/2024 06/07/2024 TechNet International 2024 Cybersecurity, C4ISR, Data Analytic Cloud, Emerging Technologies, Edge Computing, Mobile CIS Bluepoint, Brussels, Belgium https://eu.eventscloud.com/website/12746/ While long-term technological superiority in support of deterrence was highest on the agenda for NATO and EU for quite some time, operational readiness, improvement of warfighting capabilities, and short-term availability of technology in the C5ISR field gained significant importance in the wake of the current political and military situation in Europe. Tensions are high, war is around the corner. Trying to keep up with the dynamic development in IT and Cyber technologies in the private sector and sustainable support via solid and secure supply chains add to the challenges of today. Actual wars with high relevance for Europe, like the Ukraine war and the Gaza conflict, offer deep insights into the new elements of warfighting, and its rapidly changing requirements. Unconventional solutions and methods for implementing information technology in the broadest sense for defence may become the new standard. There is a growing appetite for the immediate availability of sensors, data, and effectors, thus affecting architecture, computing systems, algorithms, software, and many more C5ISR elements. The inclusion of combat systems platforms widens the scope into an inter-connected C6ISR ¿world¿, the growing role of software is mirrored by the concept of Software Defined Defence. The Brussels community of defence IT experts in each of the NATO, EU institutions, national representations, industry and academia may be aware of the current situation, relevant to their daily work. The exchange between them, however, on new developments, requirements, projects and possibilities in C5ISR, as a whole, will be most beneficial to everybody, gaining views the big picture beyond institutional boundaries will be supported by a networking conference and exhibition such as TechNet International. New faces may be welcomed, and upcoming business opportunities may be explored during the two days of the conference. Mutual understanding of chances, risks and challenges can be fostered. Information about strategic initiatives, plans, and policies by NATO and EU officials will be complemented by updates on running projects such as DIANA and HEDI. In order to encourage discussions and have exchanges on new developments, IT applications and technologies, the following topics will be discussed during sessions at TechNet International 2024. They should offer a broad basis for presentations, discussions and ethical exchange in an exemplary way. While advancing with the programme, new elements may be integrated. Sessions: ¿Tightened Situational Awareness Needs in Defence: A Tough Job for Today¿s C5ISR Technologies?" "Defence Clouds: Imminent challenges and solutions for NATO and the EU" "Interoperability via Software Defined Defence and ¿Digital Backbone¿: Making Principles Work in Practice" "Cyber Defence ¿ New Tools Have Arrived (Zero Trust, AI, Collaborative Elements)" List of technologies to be explored: 5G/6G Artificial Intelligence Cloud Computing Cloud Services Cyber Operations Cyber Security Data Analytics Data technologies Edge Computing Emerging Technologies Hybrid Cloud IT Modernisation Machine Learning Mobile CIS solutions Multi Domain Operations Zero Trust And more

In addition to a technical program of unsurpassed scope and quality, AFCEA provides the central meeting place for government, academia, and industry working in all disciplines in industry, service, government, military and academic sectors. Today's infrastructure is connected to many other infrastructure assets, systems, and networks for normal day-to-day operations. These connections may be geographically limited or dispersed over great distances. The many points of infrastructure connections and their geographic distribution can make the infrastructure environment much more complex. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) works to strengthen critical infrastructure security and resilience by generating greater understanding and action across a partnership landscape. This is achieved by working with private and public infrastructure stakeholders to resolve infrastructure security and resilience knowledge gaps, inform infrastructure risk management decisions, identify resilience-building opportunities and strategies, and improve information sharing among stakeholders through a collaborative partnership approach. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) leads the effort to enhance the resilience of the nation's physical and cyber infrastructure by bringing resources to your fingertips. Only working together can we defend against today's threats and collaborate to build secure and resilient infrastructure for the future.
