Our events provide a culture in which all attendees can connect contribute and be themselves. AFCEA Belvoir Chapter supports the Fort Belvoir community by connecting the government with IT industry professionals. The event will be kicked off with opening remarks by Lt. Gen. Susan Lawrence USA (Ret.) president and CEO of AFCEA International. The opening panel is on Diversity in the Workforce and will include senior leaders in the military and government community. It will be followed by a panel of senior IT government and military women leaders focusing on Strategic Use of Data. The event will wrap up with an all-attendee " meet the speakers" reception. https://www.afcea.org/events/diversity-workforce-afcea-idea-event-belvoir-industry-days PRIORITY:3 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT UID:66360afcea DTSTAMP;VALUE=DATE:20240329T010000 LAST-MODIFIED;VALUE=DATE:20240329T010000 ORGANIZER:Hampton Roads Chapter DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20221108T090000 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20221108T170000 SUMMARY:AFCEA HAMPTON ROADS NOVEMBER 8TH LUNCHEON LOCATION:Founders Inn 5641 Indian River Road Va Beach VA Virginia Beach VA DESCRIPTION:Mr. Olszowy serves as the Military Sealift Command N6 Command Information Officer. Years that have been characterized not only by strong technological innovation but also by upheavals in the geopolitical scenarios especially in Europe after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As the war in Ukraine has shown communications perform fundamental functions in the context of a military operation by keeping operational units aligned and ensuring their consistency timeliness and depth when using remotely piloted machines represent the fundamental capability in the context of a military operation. In this sense the secure exchange of tactical information has always played a fundamental role in the success of missions. The secure exchange of tactical information has always played a fundamental role in the success of missions. In particular the transfer of information between the various units involved in an operational scenario can in fact change the balance in the planning execution and outcome of a military operation. Therefore in a crisis situation the availability of dedicated (mission critical) infrastructures released from commercial networks is essential both for use and for knowledge and control capable of ensuring communications in a degraded environment which can be guaranteed by continuous technological development in the field of communication and information systems (CIS). Furthermore the use of " unmanned" units such as drones enhances the strategic nature of secure communication by integrating it with direct field operations by increasing the operational " depth" .It therefore follows that the use of inviolable systems both in the sense of the detection / distortion of information and in the protection / robustness of the infrastructure becomes a decisive element in defining the balance in the field. In this scenario the AFCEA event aims to take stock of the evolution of new communication technologies with particular focus on the new waveforms provided for software radio (SDR) and new data links such as those based on: Integrated Waveform (IW) in UHF band new generation HF systems EPM (Electronic Protection Measures) and NCW (Network Centric Warfare) waveforms with Spread-Spectrum and/or Frequency-Hopping. During the conference Radio over Fiber (RoF) will also be analyzed for radio links on board naval units and aspects related to the use of 5G and its interoperability with other communication systems as well as satellite communications.During the event contributions from the military institutional academic and industrial sectors will be presented to compare operational needs with the potential offered by new technologies. https://www.afcearoma.it/eventi/in-programmazione/133-comunicazioni-e-innovazione-tecnologica-verso-nuovi-scenari-operativi PRIORITY:3 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
