He formulates policy and guidance for information technology operations and directs activities to implement a $120 million annual operations budget supporting 80,000 customers across eight military installations and multiple geographically separated units. He oversees a portfolio of 900 systems, providing guidance for $1.2 billion in capital investments, ensuring security of classified and unclassified networks and supporting risk assessment activities. He also assists the Director in the command's flight and test policy, and resource allocation for flight management, airfield services, weather services and command and control operations and plans.Prior to assuming his current position, Colonel Herwick served as the Commander, 88th Communications Group, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
