We look forward to working with Chapter leadership to develop teacher grant opportunities for the schools in Ecuador to include schools in the Galapagos Islands.María Dolores Santos began the meeting discussing AFCEAN Ecuador Chapter overview,Grade Unda, Regional Coordinator Insular or Galápagos explained about Galapagos´needs reports: ADAPTATION TO VIRTUAL EDUCATION To provide elementary and high school students from San Cristóbal - Galapagos, technological tools and practical methodologies that facilitate adaptation to online learning in a motivating way and according to current reality, to achieve this result three components have been identified: Academic tutoring, training virtual and interactivity with the community.BENEFICIARIES Children 6 to 12 years of age Youth 12 to 18 years of ageCOMPONENTS:1.- ACADEMIC TUTORING2. VIRTUAL TRAINING3.- INTERACTIVITY WITH THE COMMUNITYNancy said: Sarah and I are so excited to work with the Ecuador chapter and support those in AFCEA's South America region with greater access to STEAM education programs and activities . To begin, we recommend the establishment of a program that models the one we executed last year with schools in Europe . We envision a similar program could be developed for your region. We can develop a grant program for classroom teachers that will provide funding for STEAM classroom projects and learning materials, hardware and software. We will also begin researching the opportunity to provide a STEM Teacher Scholarship in your region. Administration of this program should be fairly simple for the Ecuador Chapter. The Chapter membership will identify school(s) or teacher(s) who are prepared to conduct STEM learning activities. Once identified, the Chapter, in conjunction with the school/teacher, will prepare a description of the activity, the location of the activity, the number of children who will be impacted, and provide a detailed budget (not to exceed U.S. $1,000) for the project materials .
